From a bit to a few hundred megabytes, from a microsecond to a half an hour of computing confronts us with completely baffling ratio of 10^9! The programmer is in the unique position that his is the only discipline and profession in which such a gigantic ratio, which totally baffles our imagination, has to be bridged by a single technology. He has to be able to think in terms of conceptual hierarchies that are much deeper than a single mind ever needed to face before. — E.W. Dijkstra

Apple Calendar beta - Google Calendar sharing
Just had a hard time figuring out how to share my Apple iCal / MobileMe Calendar again with Google Calendar after ‘upgrading’ to MobileMe Calendar beta. Easy as pie, if you know how: In iCal select ‘Everyone’ as sharing option instead of ‘Only the people you invite’.
This felt rather counter-intuitive at first, but this way you get a cryptic link like webcal://www.me.com/ca/sharesubscribe/1.272…F02DA.ics, which - in turn - can be easily added to Google Calendar.
Watch out though - it took Google a few minutes to pull in the calendar events. Right after subscribing it looked bleak!

Apple iPhone 4 Bumper readily available
Five days after ordering my iPhone Bumper I received it today. Apple shows three to five weeks in Germany, this is obviously way off.

I wonder who hacks this one first - looks like any geeks dream server/controller/home entertainment system. At least once BSD/Linux replaces iOS, that is.
